Thomas J. Travers was born in 1916, in Manhattan, New York County, New York. He was employed as an Elevator operator before enlisting in the service on May 14, 1942.
Thomas served in the Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 507th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, as a Private during World War II. Pvt Travers was Killed in Action on June 11, 1944, during the Battle of Graignes in France. He is now buried in Normandy American Cemetery and was awarded the Purple Heart.
