Herbert Weiss was born on February 7, 1917, in Kielce, Miasto Kielce, Świętokrzyskie, Poland. He was the son of Sam Weiss and Lilly Schulman Weiss.
Herbert served in Company B, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, as a Private during World War II. Pvt Weiss was Killed in Action on June 7, 1944, during the Battle of Graignes in France. He is now buried in Hebrew Memorial Park, Clinton Township, Macomb County, Michigan, USA.
