Felix Clifton “Sandy” Sandefur was born on May 16, 1917, in Mississippi. He was the son of Felix Clifton Sandefur and Ruth Harman Sandefur. He was the husband of Mary Pearce Shonhor Sandefur.
Felix served in Company I, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, as a Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944, while advancing toward a German machinegun position on the road to Grainville, France. Sgt Sandefur is now buried in the Normandy American Cemetery and was awarded the Purple Heart.
