Edward LaFrancis Rogers was born on February 26, 1920, in Castleton, Rutland County, Vermont. He was the son of George Washington Rogers and Lela LaFrancis Rogers. He was married to Marie Alyce Blanchard Rogers.
Edward served in the 25th Reconnaissance Squadron, 4th Armored Division, as a Technician 5th Grade during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 31, 1944, in Mussey-sur-Marne. T/5 Rogers is now buried in the Epinal American Cemetery. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifices.
