Raymond Voss was born on October 6, 1923, in Liberty Township, Scott County, Iowa. He was the son of Otto Christian Magnus Voss and Bertha Paustian Voss. Raymond served in the 410th Infantry Regiment, 103rd Infantry Division, as a Private First Class during World War II. PFC Voss was Killed in Action on November 29, 1944, during the liberation of Alsace, France. He is now buried in the Epinal American Cemetery and Memorial, Epinal, Departement des Vosges, Lorraine, France. He was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.
