Walter A. Bresnahan was born in 1914. He served in the 1st Ranger Battalion, as a Private First Class during World War II. He was one of 50 US Army Rangers who participated with British Commando on the Dieppe raid in 1942 and was captured by Germans. He remained a POW until the end of the war and returned to the Allies on May 19, 1945. PFC Bresnahan died on March 16, 1989, and is now buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc Township, Genesee County, Michigan, USA.
