Richard Sellers served in Company C, 1st Ranger Battalion, as a Sergeant during World War II. He was promoted to Sergeant First Class. He was one of 50 US Army Rangers who participated with British Commando on the Dieppe raid in 1942. He was one of the few Rangers who fought at Cisterna and was reported Missing in Action. He returned from enemy lines and returned home with the 197 other Rangers on May 3, 1944. Sellers also signed up for the Korean War in the US Army Air Force and finished that tour as a Staff Sergeant. SSgt Sellers died on February 16, 2008.
