Delbert J. Longworth was born on June 2, 1919, in Sleepy Eye, Brown County, Minnesota. He was the son of Julius Longworth. He was employed at the California Packing Corporation before entering the service on November 13, 1942.

Delbert served in Headquarters Company, 40th Tank Battalion, 7th Armored Division as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 2, 1944, when their jeep hit a mine in Echarcon, France. Pvt Longworth is now buried in Catholic Cemetery, Sleepy Eye, Brown County, Minnesota, USA.
