Philip Sean Bancroft was born on June 11, 1949, in Ireland. He was the son of Kenneth Bancroft and Joan Bancroft. He enlisted in the service on June 8, 1967. He served in Company B, 1st Battalion, 1st Marines Regiment, 1st Marine Division, as a Corporal during the Vietnam War. Cpl Bancroft was Killed in Action on September 30, 1968, and is now buried in the Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, USA.
