George Edward Dudley was born on November 5, 1907, in Boone, Boone County, Iowa. He was the son of Charles Wesley Dudley and Olive Gertrude "Ollie" Gibbons Burton. He was married to Carrie Anna DeHaan Dudley.

George served in the 70th Tank Battalion as a Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 27, 1944, during the liberation of Chelles, France. Sgt Dudley is now buried in the Epinal American Cemetery and Memorial, Epinal, Departement des Vosges, Lorraine, France.
