Harry Schneider was born on December 18, 1914, in New York, New York County, New York. He served in the 70th Tank Battalion as a First Lieutenant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on August 27, 1944, during the liberation of Chelles, France. 1Lt Schneider is now buried in the Epinal American Cemetery and Memorial, Epinal, Departement des Vosges, Lorraine, France. Note on Burial: Both Charles' and Harry's remains were incinerated and were impossible to identify separately. The burial is most unusual as it was decided to bury them in the same casket. The casket lies between the two headstones - one a Star of David and the other a Latin Cross.
