Villard Dale Martin was born in Espanola, Rio Arriba County, New Mexico. He was the husband of Pauline Margaret Oliphant Lewis. They had a child namely Tony Dale Martin.
Villard entered the army in April 1944. He served in the 142nd Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on November 30, 1944, during the liberation of Kintzheim, France. Pvt Martin is now buried in the Epinal American Cemetery and Memorial, Epinal, Departement des Vosges, Lorraine, France.
