Albert served in the 142nd Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division as a Private during World War II. He was Killed in Action on November 30, 1944, during the liberation of Kintzheim, France. Pvt Powell is now buried in the Epinal American Cemetery and Memorial, Epinal, Departement des Vosges, Lorraine, France.
