Born on September 1, 1922. From Texas. Served as the Ball Turret Gunner on B-17 (42-107105) Maggie Mae. Bombing mission was Ankum, Germany. On the return flight the plane was hit by flak. The pilot ditched the plane in the Baltic sea, where it sank immediately. The pilot survived, but the other eight crew members drowned in the sea. He was buried until 1948 in Denmark where he is still remembered with a cenotaph.
