Anthony Joseph "Tony" Seaman was born on November 3, 1918, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He joined the RAFVR and was later transferred to the 334th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group, as a Second Lieutenant during World War II.

On October 20, 1942, his aircraft exploded in mid-air after experiencing some engine trouble during a convoy patrol. He was reported killed as it crashed into the English Channel, 10 miles northeast of Harwich, UK. His body was never recovered. His name is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom.
