Everett Charles Williams was born on January 13, 1889, in Birmingham, Metropolitan Borough of Birmingham, West Midlands, England. He served in the US Army as a Colonel during World War II.
Col Williams was the acting Chief of Staff to General Edward P. King during the campaign in Bataan and accompanied him during surrender negotiations with Japanese Colonel Nakayama in Bataan, Philippines on April 9, 1942. He was held as a prisoner of war at the Hoten POW Camp (Mukden) in Manchuria, Japan for three and a half years before being liberated by Russian forces.
Col Williams died on February 4, 1962, and is now buried in the Lake View Cemetery, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, USA.
