Burton H. Roth was born in New York State. He served in the 600th Bomber Squadron, 398th Bomb Group, Heavy, as a Second Lieutenant and Navigator of B-17 #43-38853 during World War II.
On April 10, 1945, during a bombing mission targeting the Oranienburg area near Berlin, the aircraft was struck by anti-aircraft fire (flak) and subsequently crashed in Berlin. Tragically, six were killed in action, and four were captured and became prisoners of war.
2Lt Roth was Killed in Action and currently, we don't have details about his burial. Burton H. Roth's name is inscribed on the Anstey Window Memorial in Panel 2 (center), on Butterfly 13, in the bottom left wing (section C).
