James W. Bevan was born on June 21, 1921. He was the son of David Llewellyn Bevan and Pearl E. "Effie" Wysner Bevan. He enlisted in the service in July 1942. He served in the 318th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division, as a Sergeant during World War II.
Sgt Bevan was Killed in Action on August 18, 1944, during the liberation of Argentan, France. He is now buried in the Oak Park Cemetery, New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, USA.
