Frederick Dean Hill was born on September 18, 1921, in Silver Lake, Kosciusko County, Indiana. He was the son of Dean Clifford Hill and Mildred Cleo Justus Hill. He enlisted in the service on July 8, 1942. He served in the 318th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division, as a Sergeant during World War II.

Sgt Hill was Killed in Action on August 19, 1944, during the liberation of Argentan, France. He is now buried in the Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Kosciusko County, Indiana, USA.
