James Coleman “Butch” Knight was born on April 10, 1922. He was the husband of Junior Christina "Chris" Lovell Abernathy. He served in the 318th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division, as a Technical Sergeant during World War II.
TSgt Knight was Killed in Action on August 20, 1944, during the liberation of Argentan, France. He is now buried in the Old Talihina Cemetery, Talihina, Le Flore County, Oklahoma, USA.
