Theodore John Raisch was born on June 7, 1921, in Michigan. He was the son of Hubert Victor Raisch and Ella E. Scheidel Shinkman. He worked in the Grand Rapids Wood Craft before enlisting in the service on February 16, 1942. He served in the 318th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division, as a Private First Class during World War II.

PFC Raisch was Killed in Action on August 19, 1944, during the liberation of Argentan, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Departement de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France. He also has a cenotaph in the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Alpine Township, Kent County, Michigan, USA.
