Robert Herbert Wexler was born on November 23, 1920, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Adolph Wexler and Theresa Hazel Gilly Wexler. He entered the service on July 14, 1942. He served in the 318th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division, as a Sergeant during World War II.
Sgt Wexler was Killed in Action on August 18, 1944, during the liberation of Argentan, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Departement de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
