Clifford Aylwin Williams was born on July 2, 1924, in Hammond, Lake County, Indiana. He was the son of John Clifford Williams and Martha Emma Timph Williams. He enlisted in the service on March 1, 1943. He served in the 318th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division, as a Private First Class during World War II.

PFC Williams was Killed in Action on August 19, 1944, during the liberation of Argentan, France. He is now buried in the Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, Lake County, Indiana, USA.
