Franklin A. Price was born on June 10, 1922, in Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Lillian "Lillie" Minnich and Franklin James Price. He was married to Georgia Arletta Price. He attended Tyson Schoener grade school, Southwest Junior High, and graduated from Mohnton High School in May 1941. Franklin worked in the Sun Ship Building Company but was drafted into the Army and sent to England.
Price served in the 1st Infantry Division also known as the "Big Red One" and landed in the first wave on Omaha Beach during D-Day. He also served in the U.S. Air Force in Africa, spending 2½ years overseas. After the war, Frank worked various jobs and retired from Polymer Plastics Corp. He was active in community service through the Cumru Township Lions Club, Meals on Wheels, and local church councils in Mohnton and Chambersburg.
Franklin died on June 12, 2011, and is now buried in the Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, USA.
