Harry H. Just was born on December 29, 1924, in Union Springs, Bullock County, Alabama. He was the son of Harry H. Just Sr. and Elsie Just. He served in the 84th Fighter Squadron, 78th Fighter Group, as a First Lieutenant and Pilot of P-47 Thunderbolt #42-25712 during World War II.
On June 7, 1944, the aircraft was shot down during an aerial combat mission targeting the Montdidier aerodrome in the Somme department of France. The aircraft had taken off from Station 357 in Duxford, Cambridgeshire, UK. At approximately 09:30, it was engaged in a dogfight and was brought down near the village of La Hérelle, located about 12 kilometers southwest of Montdidier.
1Lt Just was Killed in Action and is now buried in the Evergreen Cemetery and Mausoleum, Evergreen Park, Cook County, Illinois, USA.
