Joseph H. W. Daly was born on February 12, 1896, in Parsons, Labette County, Kansas. He was the son of Alex Sarsfield Daly and Jennie M. Daly. He served in the 19th Battalion, Canadian Infantry (Central Ontario Regiment), as a Private during World War I.
Pvt Daly died on April 12, 1916, and is now buried in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Poperinge, Arrondissement Ieper, West Flanders, Belgium.
