Marshall Lee Clark was born on May 18, 1905, in Calhoun Falls, Abbeville County, South Carolina. He was the son of William Rufus Clark and Mary Elizabeth Grant Clark. He was married to Addie Campbell Clark. He enlisted in the army in January 1921. He served in the 28th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division, as a Technical Sergeant during World War II.
TSgt Clark was Killed in Action on August 27, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Département de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France. He also has a cenotaph in the Salem Cemetery, Abbeville County, South Carolina, USA.
