Macey Charles �Bud� Dodd was born on February 22, 1923, in Saskatchewan, Canada. He was the son of Richard George Dodd and Lorena Bell Dodd. He was married to Elizabeth Pauline Lamb Myers. He was a graduate of Hutchinson Central High School. He worked in the Albert Stover Real Estate Company before enlisting in the service on February 17, 1943. He served in the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II.

Pvt Dodd was Killed in Action on August 26, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, D�partement de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
