Louis Charles Jezsik Sr. was born on December 29, 1908, in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York. He was the son of Geza "George" Jezsik and Mary Bodnar Jezsik. He was married to Genevieve Jezsik. He served in the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Private First Class during World War II.

PFC Jezsik was Killed in Action on August 27, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Département de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
