David “Dave” Klein was born on November 11, 1924, in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York. He was the son of Armin Klein. He served in the 28th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II.

Pvt Klein was Killed in Action on August 31, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Département de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
