Rudolph J. LeClair was born in 1909, in New York. He was employed at Maine Shoes Inc. before enlisting in the service on November 2, 1943. He trained at Fort McClellan and has been overseas for about four months. He served in the 28th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II.

Pvt Le Clair was Killed in Action on August 16, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Département de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
