Raymond Charles Scott was born on February 13, 1911, in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. He was the son of Charles Wallace Scott and Edith Bertha Richey Scott. He was Carola A. Hermes Blasig. He was employed at the W.D. Creasy Co. before entering the service in 1943. He served in the 28th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division, as a Private during World War II.

Pvt Scott was Killed in Action on August 31, 1944, during the Battle of Brest, France. He is now buried in the Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Département de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France.
