James J. Bailey was born on December 10, 1930, in St Clair County, Alabama. He was the son of Jim Bailey. He served in the 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Private First Class and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.
PFC Bailey was Killed in Action on May 23, 1951, in South Korea. He is now buried in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Branchville, St. Clair County, Alabama, USA.
