Raymond Eugene Bailey was born in 1929 in Fayette County, Alabama. He was the son of Mansel Garett "Jack" Bailey and Era Odessa Phipps Bailey. He served in the 21st Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division, as a Corporal and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.
Cpl Bailey was Killed in Action on July 11, 1950, near Chochiwon, South Korea. He is now buried in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Fayette County, Alabama, USA.
