Stewart M. Baker Jr. was born on December 26, 1927, in Andalusia, Covington County, Alabama. He was the son of Stewart Melvin Baker Sr. He served in the 77th Field Artillery Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, as a Second Lieutenant during the Korean War.

2Lt Baker was Killed in Action on September 19, 1950, in South Korea. He is now buried in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery, Andalusia, Covington County, Alabama, USA.
