Charles A. Lucas was born on July 30, 1893. He was the son of William Lucas and Amanda Adline Giffin Lucas.
Lucas was formerly employed at the Goodyear Shoe shop on South 4th Street. He served in Company A, 148th Field Artillery Regiment, 41st Division, as a Mechanic during World War I. He had been wounded before he died from pneumonia on December 1, 1918, in the hospital La Courneau, Camp Hunt in France. He was buried at
Oakland Cemetery, Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa, USA.
