Edward Anthony Globis was born on May 9, 1922, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. He was the son of Juozapas Anton Globis and Marjorie E. Stanley Morse. He served in the 703rd Bomber Squadron, 445th Bomber Group, Heavy, as a Second Lieutenant and Co-Pilot of B-24 #42-51080 during World War II.

On September 27, 1944, B-24H Liberator serial number 42-51080 was lost during a combat mission over Germany while serving with the U.S. Eighth Air Force. The aircraft was part of the American strategic bombing campaign targeting German industrial and military objectives when it encountered intense enemy resistance, including heavy anti-aircraft fire and fighter interception. During the engagement, the bomber sustained critical damage and was shot down, crashing in enemy-held territory. The loss was officially recorded in a U.S. Air Force Missing Air Crew Report and occurred during one of the most dangerous phases of the air war over Germany, when American bomber formations frequently suffered heavy losses while penetrating heavily defended airspace.

2Lt Globis was Killed in Action and is now buried in the Saint Casimir Catholic Cemetery, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA.
