Litisoni Aetonu was born on July 5, 1923. He was married to Chul Young Park Aetonu. He served in the 2nd Engineer Combat Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Sergeant First Class during the Korean War.

SFC Aetonu was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy along the Chongchon River near Kunu-ri, North Korea, on November 30, 1950, and died while a prisoner on April 30, 1951. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. He also has a cenotaph in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
