John Doyle Abbott was born on July 4, 1933, in Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona. He was the son of Joseph Lester Abbott and Floy May Bell Abbott. He entered service on July 8, 1950. He served in the 160th Infantry Regiment, 40th Infantry Division, as a Corporal and Light Weapons Assault Crewman during the Korean War.
Cpl Abbott was Killed in Action on July 4, 1933, in North Korea. He is now buried in the Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, Le Flore County, Oklahoma, USA.
