Gerardo Robles Aldana was born on October 3, 1930, in Douglas, Cochise County, Arizona. He was the son of Thomas Aldana and Amalia Robles Aldana. He served in Company D, 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division, as a Corporal and Heavy Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.

Cpl Aldana was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy along the eastern shore of the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea on December 2, 1950. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
