When Lee Vernon Goodling was born on August 19, 1910, his father, Calvin, was 21 and his mother, Mae, was 18. He had four brothers and two sisters. He entered the military service in Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Sergeant in the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on May 1, 1945 and is now buried in Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Margraten, Eijsden-Margraten Municipality, Limburg, Netherlands. He also has a mark in Aline Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Mills, Snyder County, Pennsylvania, USA.
