Robert Lee Cheever was born on March 26, 1921, in Ohio County, Indiana. He was the son of Edgar Montgomery Cheever and Dora Ann Baatz Cheever. He served in the Headquarters Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, as a Technician 4th Grade during World War II.

T4 Cheever was killed in Action on September 18, 1944, during the liberation of Eindhoven in the Netherlands. Currently, we don't have details about his burial location.
