William Raley Myers was born on March 18, 1920, in Bluefield, Mercer County, West Virginia. He was the son of Eckard Wilson Myers and Annie Mae Pate Myers. He served in the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, as a Sergeant during World War II.

Sgt Myers was killed in Action on September 21, 1944, during the liberation of Eindhoven in the Netherlands. He is now buried in the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Margraten, Eijsden-Margraten Municipality, Limburg, Netherlands.
