As a young man he took up the bass fiddle and became a local favorite, playing with a number of area bands - Al Weidkamp, "Put" Anderson and Harry Lembeck to name a few.

A veteran of WWII, Frank was stationed in Europe and spent the last eight months of the war as a POW in Barth, Germany.

After the war Frank moved to Anacortes where he became a shareholder in Anacortes Veneer, Inc. He retired in 1979.

He was married to Helene Beckley from 1952 - 1980, when Helene passed away. In 1985 he and Bernice Nicholson were married and moved back to Blanchard where they could both pursue their love of gardening and rural life.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice; two daughters: Rebecca Pratt, of NY, and Pat (Bob) Scheremeta of Bellingham; two granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren.

At his request, no services will be held.
