Kazuaki Akazawa was born on March 15, 1929. He was the son of Kunisaburo Akazawa. He served in the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Private and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.
Pvt Akazawa was Killed in Action on September 16, 1951, during the Battle of Heartbreak Ridge in North Korea. He is now buried in the Kauai Veterans Cemetery, Hanapepe, Kauai County, Hawaii, USA.
