Wilfred Hideto Arakawa was born on May 27, 1932, in Puunene, Maui County, Hawaii. He was the son of Yuichi Arakawa and Kana Arakawa. He served in the 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, as a Private and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.

Pvt Arakawa was Killed in Action on September 26, 1952, in North Korea. He is now buried in the Maui Veterans Cemetery, Makawao, Maui County, Hawaii, USA.
