Hachiro Bob Endo was born on May 2, 1928, in Alameda County, California. He was the son of Kikuzo Endo and Nao Sugiyama Endo. He served in the 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Private First Class and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.

PFC Endo was Killed in Action on October 10, 1951, during the Battle of Heartbreak Ridge in North Korea. He is now buried in the Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, San Mateo County, California, USA.
