Haruo Fukamizu was born on January 2, 1924, in Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii. He was married to Teruko Fukamizu. He served in Company C, 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team, as a Corporal and Supply NCO during the Korean War.

Cpl Fukamizu was Killed in Action on August 12, 1950, in North Korea. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
