Thomas Yoshito Funakoshi was born on September 19, 1925. He served in Company L, 3rd Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Sergeant and Light Weapons Assault Crewman during the Korean War.

Sgt Funakoshi was Killed in Action on December 14, 1952, in North Korea. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
