Raymond Tatsuo Goto was born on April 17, 1928, in Honomu, Hawaii County, Hawaii. He was the son of Kanji and Mona Shina Yoshihara Goto. He served in the 223rd Infantry Regiment, 40th Infantry Division, as a Second Lieutenant and Field Communications Chief during the Korean War.

2Lt Goto was Killed in Action on June 19, 1953, in North Korea. He is now buried in the East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 1, Hilo, Hawaii County, Hawaii, USA.
